"This is an extremely important aspect; here the secrets of your instrument are finally revealed. Often we do not even notice its true value."
The instrument must be delivered with mounted strings, so that an immediate evaluation of the required work can be made. The estimate will be done when the instrument has been successfully delivered. We release the worksheet with the date of withdrawal.
We can evaluate the eventual shipment of an instrument.
We work on plucked instruments and string instruments.
"The bow is the extension of our arm when we play, therefore its maintenance should be appropriate."
Maestro Federico Cesarini, ALADFI partners (association of French archetiers), has perfected this technique in France under the guidance of M° Jean Grunberger.
The French method allows a balanced rehairing without any risk for the head or the frog.
We bend "weak" bows and bows that aren't straight through hot procedures. The violin bows may in fact lose the original curve with time, and consequently their ability to stretch the hair the right way.
You can find more about violins bows here in the Atelier Cesarini. .
"Nothing should be added to an antique instrument, nor changed. Distinctive finishes and construction techniques that characterize the restoration period will be conserved. The luthier must consolidate and preserve the acoustic and aesthetic characteristics as much as possible to revert the instrument to its former glory."
I show you below some examples of restoration work performed on antique guitars and other antique instruments.
